Today, I got a phone call from Carol Cobbs who is days away from being evicted. She has come upon some hard times in the last few years. Her long-time boyfriend was hit by a drunk driver and now faces brain damage, seizures, and short-term memory loss, and this past week, she was robbed at gunpoint.

Helping the Ortiz Family
Last night, Carlos Ortiz and his family lost their home to a huge fire. Since it was clearly a house fire and on the southside of town, I rushed over there as soon as I saw the black smoke to see if there was anything we could do as a church to help.
It so happens that I know their next door neighbor and he introduced me to the Ortiz family. They were so broken up by the loss that they could hard . . .
Worship Fail
Have you ever been sitting in a worship service and thought back to your previous week? Suddenly your heart sinks because the words that are coming out of your mouth do not line up with your actions or attitudes.
